Young Leaders Complete
Final Session
Each year, the co-op graduates a select group of under-40 almond farmers and dedicated agricultural banking
professionals. These young leaders commit time to grow their knowledge of the
Blue Diamond
business and the almond
industry. It is a 21-year-old program completed by board members and has an alumni of more than 300 individuals.
The class of 2018 completed their final session in June. With a focus on farms and orchard practices, the group heard
from state and local farm service agencies, visited a test orchard and toured both the Salida and Turlock plants. This
behind-the-scenes look at the ins and outs of almond farming and processing is invaluable to these 38 future young
leaders. The class will graduate in November.
