Protein Powder can serve as an essential

Food Technologies’ (IFT) Food Expo in Chicago had the
opportunity to sample the protein powder in smoothies,
and experience first-hand how the new ingredient
surpasses its plant-based competitors in superior
flavor and texture. Additional recipe demonstrations
and tastings featured Chef Abel Ramos. As a research
chef with Charlie Baggs Culinary Innovations, Chef
Ramos developed an extensive knowledge of flavor
applications, trending foods, and knowledge of why
people crave the food they crave. He has deepened his
understanding and appreciation of different flavors and
cooking methods by leading a revamp of 22 Hard Rock
Hotel restaurants throughout Latin America, and instilled a
renewed focus on local, fresh and wholesome ingredients
and preparations as head chef of a high-end, family-
owned Chicago specialty grocer.
