I have been so fortunate to be raised
in Tulare County, one of the largest
producing agriculture counties in our
state. I have been surrounded by
production agriculture my whole life,
as I am the child of a 5th generation family farming
operation. I have first-hand knowledge of the impact
family farms like ours have on our economy and
community. I am proud to carry the responsibility of
continuing the love of production agriculture that my
ancestors had, and will strive to contribute to California
agriculture in a unique and meaningful way.

I hope to begin a free program where
children of fieldworkers receive
extra assistance and guidance when
applying for college and financial
aid. This would enable many of these
children to become first-generation degree holders who
are better able to support themselves and their families.
While in Guatemala, I saw this need for education
firsthand. In-depth agricultural training would allow these
children to help their families effectively promote business,
produce more crops, and financially raise themselves out
of the poverty that most of them were born into.
