Colton Farro – Turlock
Fall 2018 School: CSU Chico or CSU Fresno
Major: Ag Plant Science
Raised by a family of educators, I
thrive in the pursuit of knowledge
and education. The influence of my
parents and other family members
is a critical element in my goals
and priorities going forward in life. I am proud to be
part of a family that values the future of our youth
in a sophisticated agricultural environment and the
importance of education in that vital process.
Emely Allen Fernandes – Turlock
Fall 2018 School: Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo
Major: Ag Business
The Agricultural Business major will suit
my strong desire to acquire an extensive
foundation of business knowledge and
learn what is necessary to develop
savvy business skills, particularly as
they relate to the agriculture industry. I wish to participate
in a study abroad program to learn more about agriculture
in other countries which will help me develop an
understanding of how to build mutually beneficial business
relationships amongst our agricultural industries.
Daisy Flores – Winton
Fall 2018 School: CSU Fresno
Major: Ag Education
I plan on impacting younger
generations through agriculture in a
positive way and pursue a career in
being an agriculture teacher. Being the
oldest of six younger siblings, I plan
on setting an incredible example that they can follow.
With the help of this scholarship I not only will be able
to pursue my dream career, but I will also be able to
make my family proud in being the first person ever to
attend college.
This year’s scholarship
recipients continue to be absolutely
outstanding students interested
in furthering their education in
agriculture. It’s Blue Diamond
Growers’ honor to support
their educational goals.
