California almond farmers are eligible to receive incentive funding of $ 10.52 per acre for up to three years for adopting lower emission harvesting technology. USDA’s Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) has made this funding available starting in 2016 via grants through its Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). Funding is available for using almond harvesting equipment that has been certified to reduce particulate matter associated with harvest by at least 30 percent.
Information on specific models of harvesters, and program details are available through your local NRCS Service Center. To find your local NRCS Service Center Click here. Applications are accepted year-round.
